This is my wonderful Mother-in-Law. I kidnapped her and took her to my studio during her last visit to Minnesota. To my horror, she kept referring to them as obituary pictures, which I would firmly redirect as personality portraits of someone I love. Miss Mary has taught me the value of laughter, good story telling, honoring your husband, and thawing the turkey B4 Thursday morning (yes, it was a rough 1st Thanksgiving). She single-handedly made Laura stop sucking her thumb when she told her she would get buck-teeth. Whenever Sara got a stain on her shirt she would always ask if we could mail it to Mimi (evidently I had a low trust factor in the laundry room). And Mimi ALWAYS wants to watch the video of Clare falling asleep on Bucky, precariously waking up right before she falls off to furious rock and ride some more. My Mom "Bebe" always said they got along so well because "Mary likes to talk, and I like to listen." She raised a really awesome son for which I will forever be grateful. Mimi paved the way to grow old gracefully with just the right amount of attitude, love and grit. More fun to be had, Mimi.... lots of blueberry pie, weddings, spa days, great grandkids, ..... Bring it ON!
